Comino & Blue Lagoon Day Cruise
Overview
The Blue Lagoon is the shallow, glass-clear channel between Comino and the islet of Cominotto, and a day on the water here is Malta's classic summer outing.
Your boat leaves Sliema Ferries mid-morning (or Bugibba a little later) and cruises up the coast to Comino, where it anchors in the lagoon for the rest of the day. Swim straight off the boat, snorkel over the white sand, stretch out on the rocks or walk the island's paths to St Mary's Tower. Whenever you need shade, head back on board: there's an air-conditioned lounge, a bar with snacks and drinks at reasonable prices, freshwater showers and toilets.
A commentary points out the sights on the way there and back, and you're back in Sliema early in the evening. Pick-up can be arranged from many hotels.
Tip: the lagoon is busiest in the middle of the day in July and August, so take a hat, reef-safe sun cream and plenty of water.
