Lake Garda Castles Cruise and Bardolino Wine Tasting
Overview
Spend a half day on the southern and eastern shores of Lake Garda by speedboat, stopping for a glass or two of the lake's own red wine. The trip leaves from Sirmione's harbour with a skipper-guide who knows the lake's history.
The first castle is Sirmione's own Scaliger fortress, built right into the water. Next comes Lazise, a walled medieval town with towers along the shore. In Bardolino you step ashore for an hour-long tasting of Bardolino wine, led by a sommelier and served with snacks. Back on board, head towards Garda and Villa Canossa for a swim stop in the lake, then see the Scaliger castle at Torri del Benaco before cruising back to Sirmione.
It's a relaxed way to see four lakeside towns in an afternoon, without driving and without a coach.
