Gran Canaria Highlights: Arucas, Teror and Roque Nublo
Overview
Most visitors to Gran Canaria see only the south coast. This coach tour crosses the island to show you the green north and the mountains in between, with pickups along the south from Puerto de Mogán to Bahía Feliz.
The first stop is Arucas, where the dark volcanic-stone church of San Juan Bautista rises above the town like a cathedral. Next comes Teror, a traditional village of wooden balconies around the Basilica of Nuestra Señora del Pino, the island's patron saint, with time to walk its streets. After a lunch stop, the road climbs into the centre of the island to Tejeda and the viewpoint for Roque Nublo, the basalt monolith that has become Gran Canaria's symbol.
On the way back south you stop for coffee in a mountain village and visit an aloe vera plantation before returning to your hotel. Guides speak English, Spanish and German.
