Blue Lagoon Snorkelling Trip, Padangbai
Overview
Padangbai is a small harbour town on Bali's east coast, best known as the ferry port for Lombok. Just around the headland is Blue Lagoon, a sheltered bay with clear water, coral gardens and plenty of reef fish, and part of a marine protected area.
After pickup from your hotel, you drive to Padangbai and board a jukung, a traditional Balinese outrigger boat. The crew takes you to the reef off Blue Lagoon for your first snorkel, then to a second spot nearby, often Tanjung Jepun, depending on the sea that day. Expect to see colourful fish, corals and, with a bit of luck, turtles or a cuttlefish. Between swims there is time to relax on the small white-sand beach.
After a Balinese lunch, you head back to your hotel. Some versions add a stop on the way, such as a temple or a water palace in east Bali.
