Path of the Gods Guided Hike from Sorrento
Overview
The Path of the Gods, the Sentiero degli Dei, is the Amalfi Coast's most famous walk, an old mule track high on the mountainside with the sea hundreds of metres below. This guided day takes care of the logistics: you meet in Piazza Tasso in Sorrento and travel by shared transfer to Bomerano, in the hills of Agerola, where the trail begins.
With your guide, you spend around four hours on the path, following terraces of vines and lemons, abandoned stone farmhouses and wild rosemary, with views that stretch along the whole coast to Positano and, on clear days, Capri. Your guide knows the best viewpoints and the stories behind them, and trekking poles are provided.
The walk is rated moderate: rocky and uneven in places, with some ups and downs but no scrambling. Bring water, sun cream and a packed lunch, or buy something in Bomerano before you set off. Groups are limited to 15 walkers.
