Nerja Caves and Frigiliana day trip
Overview
Spend a day at the eastern end of the coast, where the mountains drop almost straight into the sea. First comes Frigiliana, a white village of steep cobbled lanes, flowerpots and small craft shops, with views down the valley to the Mediterranean. You have time to wander at your own pace before the short drive to Nerja.
In Nerja, the Cueva de Nerja is the highlight: a vast cave discovered by local boys in 1959, its halls hung with stalactites and columns. An audio-guided route takes you through the main chambers.
Then there's free time in town for lunch and a walk out to the Balcony of Europe, the palm-lined lookout above the coves, before the coach takes you back to your resort.
