Mallorca Island Tour: Sa Calobra, Boat, Tram and the Sóller Train
Overview
This is the classic Mallorca day out, and it packs the Serra de Tramuntana into one loop by coach, boat, tram and train. Your coach picks you up at your resort and climbs into the mountains, past the reservoirs of Cúber and Gorg Blau, before the hairpin road drops down to Sa Calobra.
In Sa Calobra you have free time to walk through the rock tunnels to the mouth of the Torrent de Pareis gorge, where a pebble beach sits between cliffs. Then a boat takes you along the coast to Port de Sóller, a 40-minute trip below the mountains. Lunch is at your own pace in the port.
In the afternoon, the old wooden tram carries you up to Sóller town, and the vintage train, running since 1912, takes you over viaducts and through tunnels back to Palma, where the coach meets you. The order can be reversed depending on timetables, and the boat depends on sea conditions.
