Boat Trip to Cap de Formentor from Port de Pollença
Overview
The Formentor peninsula is Mallorca's wild northern tip, and the best way to see its cliffs is from the water. This boat trip leaves from the New Pier in Port de Pollença and crosses Pollença Bay towards the cape.
On the way you pass the quiet cove of Cala Murta and sail under the sheer cliffs of the peninsula, with the Cap de Formentor lighthouse high above, before the boat turns back and stops at Formentor beach. The sand is fine and white, the water is clear and shallow, and pine trees grow almost to the shore. There is free time to swim before the return crossing. The boats have glass-bottom windows, so children can watch the seabed on the way.
If you'd rather just spend the day at the beach, there is also a simple ferry from Port de Pollença to Formentor beach, which takes about 25 minutes each way.
