Overview
Veranda Grand Baie puts you on the edge of the Grand Baie lagoon and a short walk from the village's restaurants, bars and shops. It's a 4★ all-inclusive hotel in a Creole-chic style: white arches, shutters, rattan and a tropical garden.
The centrepiece is a 25-metre infinity pool that looks straight out over the bay, with a bar alongside for cocktails and Mauritian snacks. The beach bar is the place for sunset. At the main restaurant, dinner is often served family-style at long tables, and the kitchen builds its menus around local produce. The Seven Colours Spa uses natural products and Mauritian massage techniques.
Rooms range from Comfort Garden and poolside rooms to Family Comfort rooms with a separate space for children, Privilege rooms with extra benefits, and apartments with a small kitchen. Ground-floor rooms have been designed for guests with reduced mobility. The hotel runs its own catamaran trips to the northern islands, and Grand Baie is the easiest place on the island to book boat trips and excursions.
