Overview
Ambre is a 4★ adults-only resort (16+) on the long white beach at Belle Mare, on the east coast. It's all inclusive, so meals, selected drinks, minibar refills, Wi-Fi, entertainment and non-motorised water sports are covered: kayaking, snorkelling, windsurfing and paddleboarding on the reef-protected lagoon.
Its 297 rooms and suites sit between the beach and tropical gardens, and every one has air conditioning, a minibar, a safe and a private terrace or balcony. The infinity pool looks straight out to sea.
You won't run out of places to eat. Indigo is the main restaurant, with live cooking stations and Mauritian theme nights. Dolce Vita serves homemade pasta and pizza, and La Plage does seafood and grills with your feet almost in the sand. Drinks flow at the Coral Bar by the pool, which also serves afternoon tea on the beach; the Ti-Bar shakes cocktails with local spices; and the H&H Lounge Bar hosts karaoke nights. The Glow Spa handles massages and treatments. The airport is around an hour's drive away.
