Embudu Village
Overview
Embudu Village is a classic, laid-back island resort in South Malé Atoll, just 20 minutes by speedboat from the airport. It's a whole island to itself, so the local-island rules don't apply: drinks at the seaside bar and swimwear anywhere on the beach.
Most guests come for the house reef. Table and mushroom corals, turtles, stingrays and a family of blacktip reef sharks are all within reach of the beach, and the on-site Diverland team runs dives to the well-known sites nearby.
Superior Beach Bungalows (42 m²) sit among the trees a few steps from the sand; the Water Villas (47 m²) have four-poster beds and ocean-view balconies. Meals are buffets in the main restaurant, with themed nights from Italian to seafood, and you can choose all inclusive. There's also the Serena Spa, a gym, a health centre, table tennis, billiards and volleyball, plus live music and DJ evenings. Excursions include local islands, Malé, night fishing and sunset dolphin cruises.
