Overview

Roll up your sleeves in a cookery school in the hills above Sorrento and learn two dishes you'll want to make again at home. A local chef shows you how to make fresh pasta dough from scratch, knead it and shape it by hand, and how to layer a proper melanzane alla parmigiana, the aubergine bake of southern Italy.

Along the way you taste local mozzarella and extra virgin olive oil, and a glass of local wine keeps the atmosphere relaxed. Then you sit down together to eat everything you've cooked.

The class takes place at Tirabusciò, a cookery school in the Casarlano area, and there's a pickup from central points in Sorrento, so you don't need a car. It works well for couples, friends and families: no cooking experience is needed, and children are welcome with an adult.
