White Grass Ocean Resort & Spa

White Grass stands on a coral bluff on Tanna's sheltered north-west coast, two kilometres from the airport, and the staff meet you off the plane. Its island-style bures all look out to sea, each with a private balcony, and from the restaurant deck you may spot whales and dolphins between July and October.

It's a small, boutique base for Tanna's big experiences. The resort runs its own Yasur Volcano Safari by 4WD across the ash plains and Blue Cave boat trips along the coast, and Volcano Island Divers, the only dive operator on Tanna, is on site.

Back at the resort, the Nabisa Day Spa's signature treatment is a volcanic hot-stone massage, and the restaurant's blackboard menu changes daily with local seafood.
