Ratua Private Island Resort

Ratua is a private island of 146 acres off Espiritu Santo, with room for no more than 42 guests. You arrive by boat, a 30-minute ride past Aore Island, or land on the island's own grass airstrip.

The beachfront villas were built from 200-year-old Indonesian teak houses. They're naturally cooled and open to the breeze, and WiFi is kept to the shared spaces, so the days are about snorkelling the house reef, kayaking the inland river, paddleboarding, outrigger canoeing and the over-water spa.

Almost everything on the table is grown, raised or caught within 50 km, much of it on the island's own farm. Breakfast is included; lunch and dinner are added as a meal package.
