Cocos Hotel Antigua
Overview
Cocos is a small, all-inclusive hideaway for adult couples, built on a green hillside between two coral beaches on Antigua's southwest coast. Instead of room blocks you stay in a stand-alone cottage made of wood and local materials, reached along garden paths.
Each cottage has a balcony with a West Indian hammock and deck chairs, sea views from almost every angle, and an outdoor shower among tropical plants. Some categories add a private plunge pool. You can switch on the air-conditioning or open the French doors and let the breeze in.
Meals are served à la carte in one open-air, multi-level restaurant, with vegan dishes on request. Spend the day on Valley Church Beach or Jolly Beach, borrow a kayak or free snorkelling gear, book a treatment at the spa or join a yoga class. You can also arrange a private dinner on the beach. The sunsets over the sea are the evening entertainment.
There's no gym or TV room, and some cottages involve a climb up the hill, so it suits couples who are reasonably fit and happy to switch off.
