Overview
Avani Kalutara sits where the Kalu River meets the Indian Ocean, across the lagoon from Kalutara town and about an hour's drive from Colombo airport. With the sea on one side and the river on the other, it's an easy, relaxed place to end a round trip.
The 105 rooms are bright and simple, with courtyard, lagoon or ocean views, and there's an ocean-view suite for extra space. Spend the day between the ocean-view pool and the beach, then choose from the Mangrove restaurant, the poolside Karadiya bar, the riverside Miridiya bar and The Pantry deli-café. You can also book the two speciality restaurants at the neighbouring Anantara Kalutara.
