Overview

Paddle along the coast of a volcano. This introductory sea kayak trip starts at Akrotiri Beach, just below the prehistoric excavations, and follows the south-west coast past rock arches, sea caves and cliffs in shades of red, black and white.

In tandem kayaks, your certified guide leads you towards Red Beach, Kambia and White Beach, seeing them from the water as most visitors never do. You'll stop to swim and snorkel in clear water, and to enjoy a light picnic of local delicacies and fresh fruit on the shore.

The tour covers around 2.5 to 4 nautical miles, with about two and a half hours of paddling. No kayaking experience is needed, but you should be able to swim and have a reasonable level of fitness. Groups are small, with a maximum of 16 people.
