Popeye Village Family Day
Overview
Popeye Village is the original film set built for the 1980 musical Popeye, starring Robin Williams, and it still stands on the rocks of Anchor Bay in Mellieħa. Its lopsided wooden houses, painted in every colour, now make a seaside attraction that children love and adults find hard not to photograph.
Wander through Sweethaven's crooked streets and houses, catch the live animation shows with Popeye's characters, and try the mini golf. There's a comic museum and a cinema showing how the film was made, silversmith demonstrations, traditional games and a scavenger hunt.
In the warmer months, the fun moves to the water, with boat trips around the bay, a floating sun deck, splash pools and an inflatable assault course. Activities vary by season, so check what's on for your dates.
The village opens daily from 9:30am. For the classic postcard view of the whole bay, stop at the viewpoint on the road above the village before you go in.
