Volcano, Hot Springs, Thirassia and Oia Sunset Cruise
Overview
This is the day trip everyone in Santorini talks about. Board a traditional wooden boat and cross the caldera to Nea Kameni, the young volcanic island at its centre. A path of black gravel climbs to the craters, around 130 metres up, where steam and sulphur still escape from the ground and the views sweep round the whole caldera.
Back on board, it's a short sail to Palea Kameni. Jump in and swim a few metres into a narrow bay, where the water turns warm and orange from the volcanic springs.
In the afternoon, spend a couple of hours on Thirassia, the island across the caldera from Fira. Swim in Korfos bay, eat fresh fish at a harbour taverna, or climb to the village of Manolas. Finally, the boat takes you to Oia, where you have free time to watch the famous sunset before the return to your hotel.
