Overview
A four-day guesthouse stay in the Marquesas, about 1,500 km north-east of Tahiti. The Marquesans call their islands Te Henua 'Enata, the Land of Men: rugged mountains, waterfalls, deep bays and black volcanic sand, without the lagoons of the other archipelagos.
The islands are known for bone and rosewood carving, tapa cloth and monumental tiki, and in 2024 UNESCO listed them as a World Heritage site for both their culture and their nature. Flights from Tahiti take more than three hours.
