Three Corners Fayrouz Plaza is an all-inclusive beach resort beside Port Ghalib, in the quiet far south of Egypt's Red Sea coast. It's just 5 km from Marsa Alam airport, so you can be in the water soon after you land.
The reason to come is the reef. The resort's 800-metre beach has direct access to the sea, and a 368-metre jetty runs out over the coral, making it a favourite with snorkellers and divers. There are marked areas for snorkelling, and the dive centre can take you further (diving costs extra).
Back on land, the main pool is heated in winter and spills over into a second pool, with a Jacuzzi and pool bar looking out to sea. Sunbeds, shades and towels are free. Children have a play zone and the Trixie Kids Club, while adults can book the spa, with its Jacuzzi and steam room, or try shisha and mint tea in the Oriental Corner. The marina promenade at Port Ghalib is close by for an evening stroll.
