Overview
Calheta Beach is an all-inclusive 4-star on Madeira's sunny south-west coast, right beside Calheta's sheltered beach of golden sand, a rarity on this volcanic island, and about 100 metres from the marina. Green cliffs rise behind, and many rooms look straight out to sea.
All inclusive here covers your room, meals, snacks and drinks, entertainment and use of the resort's facilities: three restaurants, three bars, outdoor pools including one for children, and a spa with an indoor pool and gym. Children have a kids' club with a weekly activity programme and a playground.
Rooms range from doubles with mountain or sea views to suites and family suites with more space. The resort runs transport to Funchal, and whale-watching boats and levada walks are close by, so it's an easy base for families and couples who want the beach, the sun and no bills at the bar.
