MedPlaya Hotel Pez Espada
Overview
When the Pez Espada opened in 1959, it was the first five-star hotel on this stretch of coast, and Sinatra, Sean Connery and Brigitte Bardot all stayed. Today it's a four-star hotel by MedPlaya, renovated in a style that nods to those early years, and it still sits right on La Carihuela, Torremolinos' old fishermen's quarter, with the beach just across the promenade.
The main pool is set in gardens with direct access to the seafront, and the upper Splash & Play pool, with water jets, keeps children busy. There's daily entertainment, cocktails at Frankie's bar, sea views from the Ondina restaurant and, in summer, a food truck by the pool.
Rooms range from Classic doubles to Superior Club rooms facing the pool or the sea, and the Junior Suites Beach Front have a terrace with a hot tub looking over the Mediterranean. The promenade's fish restaurants start at the door.
